Dr. Andrea Kent

Expertise: American politics; comparative politics; world politics; international relations; constitutional law; terrorism; global issues; elections; public opinion; political activism and participation
Dr. Kent teaches broadly across the political science discipline with courses on American, state, local and comparative politics; international relations; global issues; constitutional law; and terrorism. Her research interests focus on the linkages between political behavior, public opinion and political institutions.
She was selected as an IDEA Fellow in 2018 with the focus on bringing innovation, problem-solving and entrepreneurial thought into the social-science classroom.
Dr. Kent holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign where she focused on comparative politics with a sub-specialty
in American government.
